A perfect business blend has seen us crowned Costa Partner of the Year!
This month we attended the 11th annual Costa Partnership Celebrations and it was, as always, a great night for all of those involved with Whitbread’s Costa brand.
This was also our 11th year attending with Simon Vardy, managing director, Tracy Vardy, company director and Jim Smith, operations director, there on the night representing the company and doing all of us at Sim Trava proud.
The conference itself is a mix of company news, outlines of plans for the future, updates on ongoing projects, as well as an opportunity for top-performing Costa Coffee store partners to be both recognised and rewarded for their contribution to the brand.
And, this year was Sim Trava’s, as we walked away with the highest accolade on offer on the night – the prestigious Costa Store Partner of the Year title.
Fighting off competition from right across the country, we were crowned winners of the highly-sought after award having impressed a panel of Costa board of directors judges from Costa Coffee HQ, including Jim Attwood, partnerships director, and Roger Welsh, head of partner – retail stores.
Our triumph was announced by judge Roger Welsh who said the progressive nature of the business, as well as our aggressive growth plans, went down well with the rest of the panel. We were also praised for our consistently-excellent performance across all KPIs – including like for like sales, and for our overall performance which was said to emulate true brand advocacy.
As well as our business acumen, Sim Trava’s unique approach to training and HR was cited as another factor which stood us out from the competition. Special mention was given to the Sim Trava Academy and our bespoke apprenticeship scheme, as well as our own internal feedback programme – Your Say. It seems like our business truly brewed the perfect blend to secure success on the big night.
We are absolutely thrilled that the hard work of all those involved in Sim Trava has now been recognised from the top, at a national level. We could not have achieved this level of success and excellence without every individual colleague playing their part.
And, while this is a success for the business, we feel it is also a reflection of how far Sim Trava has come. This triumph has served to strengthen our resolve in committing fully to growing our people with our business. It is our mission to continue to work hard and to continue to succeed in building a family-owned business that never loses sight of what is important – our people.
We would just like to say how grateful we are to each and every Sim Trava colleague for their contribution and loyalty over the past 12 months. We would most certainly not have achieved this feat without your hard work and dedication so thank you.
